The signal in a workshop or a switchgear room is often poor, and looking up a parameter or a troubleshooting step is exactly what has to be done in such a place. Carrying the whole site on the phone solves that problem: once it is installed it does not depend on the network, and the parameters, the test bases and the diagnostic steps can all be called up on the spot.

What this client actually carries

It carries the content of this site. The model parameters, the technical articles and the contact details all come from the same source, and they are updated in the client when the site is updated, without a separate release. That decision keeps it from turning into a second copy of the data that has to be maintained on its own: one change on the site is one change on the phone.

The application version is 1.0.0. The installation package is a single apk file used by both phones and tablets, and there is no separate download per screen size. The package is about 10 MB with the whole site inside it.

Area of the running parameters on the equipment control panel
The running parameters on the panel are listed by model in the client, from the same source as the web version

Four things it does once it is installed

  • Looking up model parameters. The flow rate, vacuum level, filtration accuracy, water content and breakdown voltage of the 14 models on sale are listed by model and can be read item by item, without searching back and forth through a table.
  • Reading the articles offline. The principles of vacuum degassing, element replacement intervals, water content and breakdown voltage testing and the order of the field fault diagnosis are all available when there is no signal.
  • Contacting directly. The dialling button calls the system phone application and the mail button calls the system mail client, so the contact channels use applications already on the phone instead of a set built inside the app.
  • Saving documents. When a manual or an image has to be kept, the app calls the system downloader and writes it to the download directory of the phone, so nothing is stored in the app itself.

These four correspond to what actually happens on site: standing beside the machine and looking up a parameter, turning to a troubleshooting step in a building with no signal, needing to reach the manufacturer at short notice, and sending a document to a colleague.

What it deliberately does not do

This matters just as much. The client itself stores no business data and has no account system; opening it gives the content of the site. All the technical parameters, the test bases and the diagnostic steps are exactly the same as in the web version, so a colleague checking a parameter on a phone in the workshop and another reading the detail on a computer are looking at the same thing.

It is not connected to the machine. The running state of the equipment has to be read at its own control cabinet, and the client is not a remote monitoring terminal and neither collects nor reports data. Keeping that boundary clear is what stops the impression that the machine can be watched from the phone.

Operating and diagnostic material collated by the technical team
The operating and diagnostic material can be called up offline in the client as well, so the site steps do not depend on the network

Installation environment and the actual parameters

  • Operating system: Android 5.0 (API 21) and above.
  • Screen: phones and tablets adapt themselves, and both orientations can be used.
  • Package: yanneng-oil-filter.apk, about 10 MB, carrying the whole site offline.
  • Permissions: network access; writing to the download directory, which is only needed on Android 9.0 and below.
  • Signature: signed by Chongqing Yanneng Oil Filter Co., Ltd.

In addition, scanning the code with the phone takes it straight to the download list, and the page carries both a package download link and a check for updates.

The value of this client is not that it adds a function, but that the same content stays callable in the places where the signal is poor.
